PAX East 2013 Indie Roll Call- Color Sheep & Orion’s Forge from Tom Eastman of Trinket Studios

One of my favorite indie developers that we met last weekend at PAX East is Tom Eastman of Trinket Studios.  Tom is a guy with a lot of passion for making games, and that passion really shines through when he speaks about his work.  In today’s Indie Roll Call, Tom talks about two really cool mobile games called Color Sheep and Orion’s Forge.  Both of these games are a lot of fun to play.  In particular, Color Sheep caught our attention, because the concept is so intrinsically cool.  Essentially, players are tasked with incinerating a pack of wolves by blasting multicolored lasers from a sheep’s mouth.  Honestly, with a premise like that, I can barely summarize the game aloud without smiling.  If the concept of a rainbow-laser-sheep doesn’t resonate with you, you might not be human… you might be a wolf.

We have a special place in our hearts for indie developers.  It takes a lot of courage to put it all on the line to pursue your passion.  Tom and his partners left jobs at a major studio to make these games, and their story is very interesting.  In the video below, Tom talks all about Trinket Studios, Color Sheep, and Orion’s Forge.  His story is one of sticking it to the man, coloring outside the lines, and then using those colors to turn big bad wolves into bone fragments.

Color Sheep and Orion’s Forge are available on iOS and Android for $0.99 each.  For more information, visit
