Video Interview With Ubisoft/Nadeo | ShootMania Storm | PAX East 2013

Ubisoft’s booth may have been the most central spectacle on the PAX East 2013 expo hall floor, and the action surrounding ShootMania Storm was a major reason.  They were running live matchups all day, with dozens of PC stations streaming directly to the big screen monitors above.  They even had a host onstage hyping up the crowd and firing off freebies into the audience.  Pageantry aside, I played the game for a while, and I have to say that I was impressed.  This is a shooter based around operational simplicity, ease-of-access, online competition, and community input.  Joshua Milligan, Senior Director of Online Strategy, spoke to me about all the game’s features, and he broke down exactly what makes this game so fun and unique.

The game will be released April 10 on Steam, and the open beta is currently available for download.  I can’t give my full endorsement until I see the finished product, but from what I have seen so far, it is a fun shooter with a lot of unique ideas.  For the $19.99 price tag, I would say you can’t get a much better deal for your dollar.  It is definitely worth a look, even if you just download the free open beta client.

Check out the interview below, and be sure to come back closer to the April 10 release date for our full review!
